Turp Holep for chronic bacterial prostatitis - need help

Post by xDxD »

Hello

I have been suffering from chronic bacterial prostatitis for over two years. The germs change constantly under the therapy with antibiotics. E. coli, Enterococcus, Klebsiella, Citrobacter...etc No doctor can explain it. I am considering TURP or Holep but according to my MRI the inflammation is in the peripheral zone and this is not removed during TURP or Holep. Does anyone have any experience or advice for me?

Thanks in Advance!

No, you don't have chronic bacterial prostatitis with ever-changing species of bacteria. I have never heard of that. Never. Most likely you are yet another UCPPS patient, and your best bet is to follow the Tips page: https://www.ucpps.men/viewtopic.php?t=9338

no it is certainly an infection. It started with an untreated acute infection and then became chronic. I had the germs gone once after a year. But after that a catheter treatment and since then I can't get rid of the germs. Antibiotics work directly when given as a test for the acute germs but after 5 days I get a reinfection with a germ that is resistant to the current antibiotic.

I have heard this story hundreds of times, literally. It never turns out to be a bug. You are being misled by the anti-inflammatory action of the antibiotics: https://www.ucpps.men/viewtopic.php?t=9339

Dude 3 Glass sample and ejaculate are always positive for intestinal bacteria. Antibiotics cause more pain if they are not sensitive to the bacterium.
Trust me i know it's bacterial in the first Line. I know how are my Symptoms without positive Culture.
My question is, can a Turp or Holep help at all if the chronic prostatitis is in the peripheral zone?
Every urologist says something different.

I can see this is not going to end well. I have never heard of chronic bacterial prostatitis with an ever-changing roster of bugs. Do you have CBP? Check here: https://www.ucpps.men/viewtopic.php?p=20222#p20222

Regarding your question, urologists won't give you a straight answer (which is No) because they are surgeons and you are asking them if a surgery will help. That's like asking a barber if you need a haircut.

I can understand if no inflammation is seen that the answer is "no". But if there is inflammation and I remove the tissue, then the symptoms must also get better. If the inflammation is in the peripheral zone and a Holep does not help, then there is also the TULSA Pro, which is actually used for cancer instead of a total prostatectomy.

You don't treat inflammation with surgery. Operating for chronic pain often produces more pain. You are looking for a magic bullet. This problem is more subtle. Describe all your symptoms.
