Diet and Prostatitis flare

Post by blasteen »

Hi,

Being on so many antibiotics 3-4 years ago when my symptoms started and given that I had taken antibiotics for months for skin issues 5-6 years ago, I developed many food intolerances 3 years ago (fructose/lactose) and have been told that I suffer from IBS. 2 years ago I started to change my diet and stopped all sugars and went on a diet of meat, vegetables and fruits which made feel very healthy. I also started taking in a large quantity of almonds on daily basis. 4-5 months after this I came up with a horrible flare up which started reducing after 6-7 months after I found out that a lot of foods cause my increased pain levels (pelvic pain, pain in urethra, pain after urination, pain in lower abdomen) especially after passing stools, these were foods such as meats, pasta, tomatoes and fizzy drinks. I have changed my diet to a mostly vegetarian diet in past 8-9 months and I observed a decrease in my symptoms but noticed an increase in symptoms after taking the troublesome foods few time in row.

In the past month after going on a course of penicillin due to a skin infection, my diet changed to a low fibre diet with little vegetables and more sugars. However, I did not get the same pain after eating meat or unhealthy foods. Going back to my old diet as my anxiety level was increasingly being on an unhealthy diet, I am again noticing low abdomen pain accompanied with some pelvic pain and pain in the urethra.

What could this be due to ?

I highly recommend that you continue with a high fiber / fibre diet.

This diet cured my IBS. Be sure to get lots of the important type, SOLUBLE fibre.
