Methylene blue and NO
Methylene blue and NO
A pelvic pain specialist prescribed me Urogesic Blue which I believe is a similar combination antispasmodic/microbial/etc drug to Uribelle which has been mentioned here. It seems to be prescribed for women with IC mainly, and this doctor does work more with IC. One ingredient, though, is Methylene blue "an inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase". This surprised me because from what I've read increasing NO is generally a good thing for CPPS, especially with ED which is one of my main symptoms. I've been taking L-citrulline and just started occassional Cialis to try to increase NO and hopefully increase bloodflow to the area. Is there ever a case where lowering NO would be of benefit? I'm just wondering if taking this will counteract all my efforts to raise NO and maybe I should ask for a drug that doesn't have it?

Re: Methylene blue and NO
Methylene blue works as a mild antiseptic to kill bacteria in the urinary tract. If you have no infection, it's pointless. I would try to get another drug that excludes it.Urogesic Blue is a urinary antiseptic, urinary acidifier, and antispasmodic combination. It works by helping to kill bacteria in the urine, decreasing inflammation, and reducing muscle spasms in the urinary tract.
