Singulair

Post by MastCells »

I've been taking 10 mgs of Montelukast Sodium (Singulair) daily for my allergies and asthma for over a month. Singulair is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. (Leukotrienes, which are derivatives of arachidonic acid, are potent mediators of inflammation that are released by mast cells and various other cells.)

Although this medication has helped control my asthma, it hasn't had any noticeable effect on my CPPS/IC symptoms.

I tried it a couple of years ago and had to stop after a few days. Can't remember much about it, but I definitely had an adverse reaction.

Singulair

Post by mapletop »

I came across a book from Daniel Shoskes. He mentions using Singulair (montelukast) for Pelvic pain. I had a hard time convincing my doctor to give me a script to let me try it. I just wanted to get rid of the inflammation cycle.

Thanks. My doc is specific. Chronic non bacterial prostatitis and chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome go hand in hand. Just have to convince him to give me a trial run.
