Finasteride (Propecia, Proscar) success rate?

Post by brennmi »

What has been the success rate (or not) on the use of Finasteride to shrink the prostate and improve urine flow?

Finasteride is used to treat BPH. It's not really used in CPPS.

There have also been disturbing reports that finasteride is associated with sexual side effects that may persist despite discontinuation of the medication. In a clinical series, 20% of subjects with male pattern hair loss reported persistent sexual dysfunction for ≥6 years, suggesting the possibility that the dysfunction may be permanent.
