Wheat elimination effects?

Post by Paso »

I have been cutting wheat and all other grains out of my diet for 2+ weeks now. When should I experience any improvement if it works?

In my case, my IBS rapidly resolved and I had a lot more energy. The chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms did not initially change, and only years later, after my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome had faded completely, did I find that the symptoms could quickly come back if I started eating wheat/gluten.

If you notice no positive changes, I doubt wheat/gluten exclusion will help you.

I will wait another 2 more weeks to see if it does anything. Others that have improved, how did it happen for you?

Eliminating wheat hasn't had any direct effect on my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms; however, it was giving me other weird symptoms (numb feeling in stomach, extreme thirst). That went away pretty quickly.
Started: Spring 2003; high urinary frequency and pain associated with bladder filling; urinary hesitancy; pubic/prostate/perineal discomfort; Helped by: trigger point therapy, Afrin nasal spray, Cymbalta, hydrocodone (small doses), distraction. Makes worse: sex.

Not medical advice. Consult your doctor.
