Re: PT in Boston area?
If you have to be on medicine for a long time, it's not a big deal. Certainly nothing to worry over. I take four different drugs in a day, one of which is Lyrica, and I do believe they all help me. I'll be on them indefinitely and I'm fine with that. Do what you have to do. That said, I think (as do...

Re: Anybody know of a good PT in Central Florida
Hi,
If you're willing to travel, try Pamela Downey at Partnership in Therapy for Wellness, which is in Coral Gables. 305-666-3232
Qualified PTs are sparse in Florida, but Pamela is very good. Takes me hours to get there, but you do what you have to.

Re: Prostatitissurgery.com, Arnon Krongrad, Christopher Eden
The fact that a majority (60%) of his symptoms have returned is pretty indicative of the procedure having been unnecessary. If the prostate was the source of the problem, removing it should've left no room for any sort of recurrence. Shame that the poor fellow has to go through this situation. That ...

Re: Aaron Filler in Santa Monica
You have the name right. Dr. Hollis Potter. She is at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NY, which I'd say is a far more reputable facility for imaging work. Back when I read the other forums, I consistently heard complaints about Dr. X's prices and the conduct of his staff. To be clear, I don't of...

Hi, Try Pamela Downey at Partnership in Therapy. She's located in Coral Gables. Excellent reputation around UM/Sylvester and the University of Miami. 305-666-3232 She's my PT, and I can attest to her knowledge on pelvic floor dysfunction. Re: Prostatitis is "a garbage term" says expert
Dr. Clemens and his colleagues suggested that the prevalence increases with age, peaking between at age 71-75 years (it's much younger, and I think he's conflating BPH with CPPS) This seems to be a common point of confusion among physicians and urologists. I remember having a bad flareup years ago,...

Re: Study: PTNS effective for CPPS
I find the statistics on surgical patients to be unfortunate, but I am not surprised by them. Most of us are raised to believe that modern medicine has all of the answers, and that it's unwise to question your doctor's assertions. Thus, a lot of sad stories. Urology is a surgical specialty. When sur...

Re: AUA 2009: Pregabalin (Lyrica)
I posted in early 2009 that Lyrica was beneficial to me, and I continue to hold that opinion today. It remains a component of my pain management regimen. I have not had to tweak the dose since I began taking it, and the nerve zaps are a far less frequent aspect of my condition. Perhaps my version of...

My goodness. Toth and Feliciano both. You've certainly been through the gauntlet of questionable practices. If you want to see another urologist, I would suggest that you visit Dr. Moldwin on Long Island, given your location. He has a very good reputation as a physician with modern knowledge of CPPS...

Re: Prostatitissurgery.com, Arnon Krongrad, Christopher Eden
If you've been through three rounds of antibiotics, and urine / semen cultures have been clean, my layman's guess is that you probably don't have a bacterial infection. It really isn't that hard to detect. If it were an acute infection, that's a medical emergency, and you'd be on your way to the ER ...

Re: Prostatitissurgery.com, Arnon Krongrad, Christopher Eden
I am a bit late to respond, but I stand by my earlier comments. There is no scientific evidence to support prostate removal as a cure for the typical chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome patient. To the contrary, there's much evidence - anecdotal and in studies - that it does nothing a...

You need to also post Krongrad's remarks. I understand you want people to see both sides, but doesn't help by only showing negative. This is strictly my personal opinion, not Webslave's, but I don't understand how one can show the positive side of an entirely negative topic. 90%+ cases of chronic p...

Re: Dr Shoskes takes colleagues to task
Some pretty remarkable numbers in that study. Two million visits annually, between '90 and '94. Imagine if that were a specific cancer or disease. It would likely get a lot of attention within the medical community, and so I wonder why our situation doesn't! Would be curious to see what the numbers ...

Re: Dr Shoskes takes colleagues to task
Excellent commentary! It's great to see these facts spoken so plainly. Hopefully, a few of Dr. Shoskes' colleagues will listen.
That said, I can't help but be left with the feeling that something (or someone) recently angered him.
